The best kitesurfing conditions – wind blowing for six months a year

Brazil is one of the best places in the world for kitesurfing. The coast of the state of Ceará is approximately 600 km long, with vast beaches and countless spots along the way. The season lasts from August to the end of January. During that period, the trade-wind blows constantly with a speed of 20–35 knots. Water temperature stays in the season at an average of 28ºC. The tides of the ocean are easily perceptible and within approximately 12 hours of circulation the beach and the tide change almost beyond recognition, alternately offering almost flat water and a wave perfect for kitesurfing. Due to the constant, strong wind, the optimal size for kites for the most of the season is 7–12 m2.
